The Cadet Program
The Emergency Services Cadet Program provides training for young people, teaching them essential life skills and providing skills that relate to the State Emergency Services, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and Queensland Ambulance Service.
If you have commenced year 8 you can join the Emergency Services Cadets Program. Our induction to the program happens in February each year to find out more email for more information.
As part of your commitment to the cadet program you will be expected to attend all training sessions. training nights are generally held one night a week during the school semesters. Also weekend sessions and cadet camps are conducted during the years program.
Emergency
Service Cadet Program teaches skills that you will have for the rest of your life such as
· First Aid
· Bushcraft and camping
· Boating Safety
· Fire prevention and awareness
· Map reading and navigation
· Search and rescue Techniques
· Knots and lashings
· How to handle injured and traumatised people
· How to operate a fire extinguisher
· Leadership
· Team building
· Communications
Emergency
Service Cadets find it a great way to
meet people from all walks of life and develop
new friendships!
Emergency
Service Cadets thinking of a career in
Emergency Services, such as the Fire and Rescue, Ambulance, Police
or Rescue Helicopter Services will give themselves a headstart
and knowledge that will help in the future.
Maroochydore
Emergency Service Cadets meet on a Monday evening
between 6.30 and 8.30pm at the Maroochydore SES Group Headquarters,
Elizabeth Daniels Park Buderim.
